2023 Gladiator: Traction, Maneuverability For Off-Road Adventure

The 2023 Gladiator combines traditional Jeep power and advanced 4x4 systems with adaptive dynamics for daily commuting and off-road driving.

Enhanced features for traction, maneuverability and water fording make it well-suited for multiple terrains and adventurers looking for the ultimate open-air driving experience.

Under the Hood

Gladiator delivers 3.5-liter Pentastar V6 and 3.0-liter turbocharged diesel engine options. The 3.6-liter V6 engine mates to a standard six-speed transmission with 285 hp output and 260 torque peak.

Alternatively, the 3.0-liter V6 turbocharged engine is matched to an eight-speed automatic transmission which offers 260 hp and 442 Ib-ft of torque.

The turbodiesel engine has an EPA-estimated 22 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway. In contrast, the 3.6-liter engine attains an estimated 21 mpg inside the city and 27 mpg on the expressway. When water freezes and becomes ice, it seeps into roadways and creates potholes that spring rain makes difficult to see.

With a 10-inch ground clearance and reinforced 137.3-inch wheelbase, the Gladiator can drive over potholes without undercarriage damage.

Comfort and Convenience

For drivers with seasonal allergies that cause itchy eyes, running noses or scratchy throats, the air filter blocks 99 percent of particles from entering the cabin through the heating and air conditioning system.

All models seat five passengers and come with a 5-foot all-steel cargo bed for gears and supplies.

An available Trail Rail management system keeps everything organized with adjustable tie-downs and a cargo basket.  A spray-in layer insulates the cargo bed surface and protects the truck from scuffs and scratches in rough terrain.

The 2023 Gladiator has a towing capacity of 7,700 pounds, enough to haul a camper, boat or a couple of all-terrain vehicles for a scenic spring road trip. Full-steel doors and a Gorilla glass windshield protect the vehicle from trail debris and hailstorms.

Safety

Off-roaders will find the high-strength LED headlamps helpful in spotting animals that may cross in front of the vehicle without warning.

Over 80 standard and accessible car technologies are available on the 2023 Gladiator for driving safely in spring weather.

Available features include:

  • Forward Collision Warning with Active Braking
  • Trailer Sway Control System
  • Rear Park System
  • Blind-Spot Monitoring
  • Adaptive Cruise Control
